NACSC Accreditation Process (10 Stages)

Ready to take the first step toward accreditation? Here’s how to get started:

Phase 1: Pre-Application & Eligibility (Stage 1-2)

1️⃣ Information Procurement & Eligibility Review – Institutions or programs obtain accreditation guidelines and submit eligibility applications.

2️⃣ Application Submission & Contract Agreement – Formal application, signing of the agreement, and fee payment.

Phase 2: Self-Evaluation & Initial Review (Stages 3-5)

3️⃣ Self-Evaluation & Report Submission – The institution/program conducts an internal review and submits a self-assessment report.

4️⃣ Appointment of Accreditation Committee – NACSC assigns a review committee to evaluate the self-assessment report.

5️⃣ Initial Evaluation Report & Response – The Accreditation Committee submits an initial review report; institutions/programs provide a response or corrective action plan.

Phase 3: Peer Review & Site Visit (Stages 6-7)

6️⃣ Peer Review Team Appointment & Site Visit – Subject experts visit the institution/program for an in-depth evaluation.

7️⃣ Peer Review Report & Institutional/Program Response – The review team submits findings; the institution/program addresses concerns and submits a position statement.

Phase 4: Final Decision & Accreditation Grant (Stage 8-10)

8️⃣ Final Evaluation Report & Review – NACSC conducts a comprehensive final review of the peer review findings and responses.

9️⃣ Accreditation Decision & Grant – NACSC announces accreditation status and publishes accredited institutions/programs.

🔟 Post-Accreditation Monitoring & Compliance – Continuous monitoring through periodic reporting, renewal assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
